Here is a selection of good security tips:
Lock it or loose it! (if you have security use it, or your insurance may not pay out!).
Install an alarm system (& CCTV) or do actively train a dog to guard the house properly.
Make your home look occupied by leaving lights (or lights on a timer) or radio on.
Keep car keys, valuables and electronics out of easy view of windows for passers-by.
Don’t advertise new ( Christmas) purchases by leaving packaging on show by your bins.
Make sure all entrances are secure especially back gardens (most car key (and car) thefts are done by smashing through patio doors).
Tell trusted neighbours if you are away.
Fit a video doorbell so you can answer it even when not home (see Ring.com).
Don’t leave anything, even coins, on show in your car. Some people try every car door!
Fit a car steering lock and keep the key on a separate fob.
PRACTICE GOOD SECURITY AWARENESS AND ENCOURAGE YOUR FAMILY TO DO IT TOO.
